Faculty and Staff Information
Services for Faculty and Staff
Currently, for the convenience of faculty and staff, College-related mail is delivered and picked up from each department across campus at least once each day. Accountable mail (Express, Certified, Insured, and Registered mail) will have a card attached to the package. This card must be signed and returned to the Mail Center as soon as possible.
All personal mail and/or packages must be picked up at the Mail Center; personal mail will not be delivered. If mail is properly labeled, the Mail Center will try to call the recipient or the departmental secretary, if applicable, to let him/her know that personal mail is being held at the Mail Center.
Outgoing College-related mail can be charged to a departmental account if authorized by the appropriate person and the account code is provided to the Mail Center staff. All Departmental Priority and Express Mail will be processed through the College’s “Click-N-Ship” account. Although the Mail Center will assist with sending personal mail, that mail should not be charged to the department; it must be paid for in cash by the sender. If your international mail has a hand-written customs declarations, it cannot be accepted at the Lafayette College Campus Post Office; it must brought to the downtown Easton branch of the Post Office. If you wish to send your mail from the campus Post Office located in the Farinon Center, you must complete your customs form online (USPS.com-customs form), print it out, and bring it with you to Farinon. After printing out the required customs forms, the shipment can be brought to the Campus Post Office for postage and mailing.
All inter-departmental mail can be dropped off at the campus mail slot at the Mail Center. Please correctly label envelopes with the full name of the recipient and the department name where he/she works. Please do not address inter-departmental mail to buildings or rooms.
Mail for student mailboxes must be properly addressed with the name and box number. For mass mailings, the Mail Center will insert them into mailboxes two (2) days after receipt. No items smaller than a postcard will be accepted. Single full-sheet items must be tri-folded and half-sheet items must be folded in half.
